Platinova is a full-stack intellectual property practice for Indian mid-market businesses, founded by Nayan Rawal, a senior IP and commercial-law practitioner.
It exists because of a pattern he kept meeting: companies that had spent years and real money on registrations, and still could not answer a simple question about what they owned or what to do next.
A filing receipt tells you a form was submitted. It does not tell you whether the thing you care about is protected, whether it is legally yours, what it is worth, or what you should do in the next twelve months. Those are business questions, and they deserve an answer a founder or a finance director can read without a lawyer sitting next to them.
So every engagement here ends in a document you could hand to your board — written in plain language, with the reasoning visible next to each recommendation. The legal work underneath it is the same rigorous work it always was. The output is simply built for the person who has to make the decision.
Everything we do runs on one approach: Create, Protect & Leverage™ — help you create IP worth owning, protect what you've created, and leverage it into revenue. The service ladder on our services page is that approach turned into work you can buy.
Every service has an entry product: a named deliverable with a written scope, a timeline, and one fee agreed at the outset. If the work turns out to be larger than we judged, that is our estimating risk to carry, not a surprise on your invoice.
Anything genuinely outside the agreed scope stops the work and gets quoted separately, so you always keep the choice.
Landscaping, audit, registration, portfolio strategy, commercialization, enforcement and renewals sit inside the same practice. You are not handed to a different firm when the question moves from filing to licensing, and nobody has to relearn your business at each stage.
The practical benefit is continuity: the person who audited your portfolio is the person who knows why a particular registration was worth keeping.
Specialist vocabulary is a real tool between practitioners and a barrier everywhere else. Our advice is written to be understood by the person paying for it, with the technical basis available underneath if you want it.
A recommendation you cannot explain to your own team is not much use to you, however correct it is.
Some questions are answered by a free tool on this site. Some situations do not need a filing at all, and some need a different specialist entirely. The discovery call is free partly so that nobody has to pay to hear that.
Fixed fees only work if we are willing to turn down work we cannot properly define — which is a discipline we would rather be held to than quietly drop.
Platinova is deliberately small. The person who scopes your work is the person who does it.
A senior intellectual property and commercial-law practitioner. His practice spans the full IP lifecycle — from landscaping and audit through registration, portfolio strategy, licensing and enforcement — which is the reason Platinova is structured as one firm rather than a filing desk.

Indian mid-market businesses — companies large enough that their brands, products or processes are genuinely worth protecting, and small enough that they do not have an in-house IP function deciding what to do about it.
No. Each service line has one entry product with a defined end — the IP Position Audit is the most common starting point because it makes every later decision cheaper, but you can begin at whichever rung your business is actually on.
Filing is one rung of seven here. The difference is what happens either side of it: knowing what is already out there before you spend, and knowing what your portfolio is for once you hold it. If all you need is a clean filing, we will do that and say so.

The practice is based in Kandivali West, Mumbai. Filings and prosecution are national in scope, and most work runs over calls and shared documents, so location rarely constrains an engagement. Workshops are run on site where that is practical.
